(Silverdale) -- Olympic High sophomore Trent Gallagher scored 24 points Friday night as the Trojans beat the Sequim Wolves 50-44 in Olympic League boys basketball.
Olympic (3-5, 5-7) led 15-4 at the first quarter, after Sequim was hampered by 3 fouls against point guard Corbin Webb in the first four minutes.
The Wolves trailed by 10 at 22-12 with 3 minutes left in the first half, but went on an 8-0 run to tie the contest 22-all at intermission, fueled by 3-pointers from Michael Dunning and Nick Camporini.
Sequim (5-3, 5-6) continued its run to 13 consecutive points by scoring the first 5 of the second half, leading 27-22.
Olympic roared back with several fast breaks, tying the affair at 27, then moved ahead by 6 on consecutive triples by Gallagher.
Dunning and Webb hit 3-pointers to keep Sequim within 6 at the third quarter break, 40-34.
John Textor scored 6 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter off Olympic turnovers, the last basket drawing the Wolves to within 1 point at the 3:26 mark, 42-41.
Woeful fourth quarter foul shooting (2 for 8) prevented a Sequim comeback and Olympic hit 4 for 4 from the charity stripe in the final period.
Senior Larry Dixon had 10 for Olympic and Ryan Borja muscled in 9 points.
Dunning finished with 10 for the Wolves.
Sequim will visit the Klahowya Eagles Tuesday, while Olympic hosts North Kitsap.
