(Sequim) -- Jayson Brocklesby scored 20 points and Corbin Webb added 14 as the Sequim Wolves boys basketball team stayed unbeaten, drubbing the Port Townsend Redskins 59-30 Tuesday at Rick Kaps Gym.
The Wolves (3-0, 2-0 in Olympic League play) flustered the Redskins early with a 1-3-1 zone defense, allowing Sequim to forge an 11-2 lead halfway through the opening stanza.
Sequim increased its 16-8 first quarter advantage, outscoring Port Townsend 24-8 in the second period, getting 10 points from Brocklesby, including a breakaway one-handed jam.
The Wolves enjoyed a 40-14 halftime bulge.
Port Townsend (0-2, 0-2 in Olympic League play) started three sophomores -- Will O'Brien, Skyler Coppenrath and Paul Spaltenstein.
Spaltenstein had a team-high 10 points and Coppenrath chipped in 8.
Sequim led 51-25 after the third quarter, when Webb cashed in for 7 markers.
Point guard Evan Hill and freshman Alex Barry had 8 points apiece for the Wolves.
Port Townsend hosts North Kitsap Friday at Bruce Blevins Gym.
Sequim takes to the road tonight (Wednesday) for a non-leaguer against the Peninsula Seahawks in Purdy.
