PREP BASKETBALL: Sequim 54, Port Townsend 36

(Sequim) -- Gabe Carter scored 17 of his 22 points in the first half as the Sequim High Wolves romped to an easy 54-36 Olympic League boys basketball victory over the Port Townsend Redskins Friday night at Rick Kaps Gym.
Jayson Brocklesby had five first-half steals as Sequim led 29-10 at intermission.
Brocklesby scored 9 and Andrew Shimer had 6 for Sequim, now 1-0 in league play and 1-1 overall.
The Wolves forced more than 30 Redskin turnovers, but committed 22 miscues themselves.
Sequim led by as many as 24 points early in the third quarter.
Cody Russell led Port Townsend with 11 points and Brian LeMaster had 8.
Alex Barry and Rory Kallappa paced the Wolves with 4 points apiece.
Paul Spaltenstein added 5 for the Redskins (0-1), who play at North Mason Tuesday.
The Wolves travel to Silverdale Tuesday to play the Olympic Trojans.
