Sequim boys beat Mount Tahoma 57-39

(Sequim) -- Sequim High's Alex Barry canned four first-half treys on his way to a 22-point effort as the Wolves boys basketball team downed the Mount Tahoma Thunderbirds 57-39 in non-league action Thursday night at Rick Kaps Gym.
The Wolves led by 5 early, but the Thunderbirds recovered to lead 13-11 after one period.
Sequim took the advantage for good at 20-18, then pulled ahead by 7 at halftime -- 28-21.
Barry had 16 at intermission, while MT's Nick Dennis had 9 of his team-high 19 markers in the first half.
Sequim sophomore Bailey Earley got hot after halftime, scoring 7 of his 9 tallies in the 3rd quarter, as the Wolves pushed their lead to 15 going to the final period -- 46-31.
The Wolves shooting cooled in the fourth quarter, but the visitors never got closer than 12 the rest of the way.
Jackson Oliver paced Sequim with 15 points, including 8 for 8 at the free throw line.
The Wolves canned 15 of 19 freebies, while the Thunderbirds missed 16 of their 22 free throw attempts.
Tavon Shelley tossed in 12 markers for Mount Tahoma.
Mount Tahoma (0-4) hosts the Wilson Rams tomorrow (Friday), while Sequim (3-1) entertains Port Townsend Monday night.
